Pets

When I was a child I had a dog called Akane. It was a quiet a beautiful dog. Actually I have not a pet because I live in a very small house and I disagree with the animal in the cage.

In my opinion, the use of animals for medical research is bad. I agree the arguments from animal activist.

When I was a child a dog bitten me. I remember that I cried because I feel so much pain. The dog that bite me was black and big and bite me when I was walking to my house. I feel its teeth in my leg.

I hate the zoo. I don´t understand how the people enjoy to see animal in the cage. I think that all animal should be free.

If I could be an animal, I will be a bird. I would like fly for different countries and landscapes. I will do my nest on a tree. I have seen very beautiful birds with a lot of different colors. I would fly for the sea and the mountains.

Friends!

I believe that friendship is one of the things that makes life meaningful. I think that friendship is one way in which two people are free to indulge love. I really love my friends, they are few but good.
In general, my friends are good, loving and intelligent people.  When I've had great sorrows of love are my friends that have been there for me. Also, when my friends were sad, I tried to accompany them and give them my love. I try to be a good friend, but do not really know if I'm.

I'm not a person who makes friends easily. I'm very shy and find it hard to make new friends.
I have several close friends and could not choose just one.  My friends from high school are called Ángela and Nadia. Ángela is a nurse and Nadia is a journalist. They are very happy people and always go out to drink.

Another close friend is Camila, I met her in college while studying anthropology.  With Camilla we can talk for hours, and we can also accompany silent. Camila and I talked a lot about life, love, feminism and anthropology.  Camila and we feel very similar on some issues.

I also have my friends with whom I traveled to Colombia, they call Cristóbal  and José Luis. when I go to Valdivia I always take a beer with them.

Definitely my life without friendship would be ugly and sad.

Food

I think it's important to have a balanced diet to maintain good health.

I consider myself a person who eats all kinds of foods, however as no high amounts.  usually I like to eat lots of vegetables and pasta. I like vegetables lettuce, cucumbers, spinach, tomatoes and celery.  I really like something called nalca and on the southern Chile.  Nalca is something like a root that is eaten with salt. It is very rich and cheap.

Chilean food I like roast lamb being made south of Chile.  I also really like the merquén. I could put merquén  to almost everything. I also really like the  cheese “chupe” makes my mom. I really love this food!

A meal that hate is the sushi. I do not understand why it likes both people.

When I lived in Colombia I liked organic coffee and eating pods that sold on the streets.

Although I am not vegan, I'd really like a restaurant called vegan bunker is located in the neighborhood Italy. There prepared very delicious and cheap menus.

On my last trip to Peru I got sick because I ate all local foods.  I ate ceviche, chili chicken, and drink much souer pisco and other types of pisco I can not remember what they were called.

If I were to die would ask much chocolate!

My dream job

Hello friends, today I will write about my dream job.  The truth is that it is the first time I think about this subject. I think I'm a person who likes to surprise her life.  Well, I think my dream job should be something linked to anthropology and feminism.

I would like to work as an anthropologist in an NGO.  I definitely don’t want to work in government.  I like to work doing social research, maybe at a university. In this regard, I would like to have an office but have to travel for fieldwork. I like to travel to other countries in South America and know the issues around gender relations.

I too would like to study a PhD in Latin American Studies.  I would like to earn a scholarship and study abroad, yet I'm not sure which country. I think there is much to do in Latin America and is a wonderful place. On the other hand I love studying, I spend my life studying because there are always things to learn.

I would like to have a job that challenges all the structures that have been socially constructed. I don’t t want to integrate into the system, I want to change. Maybe I'm too utopian and will have many disappointments in life, but do not want to swindle my dreams.

My best place

Today I will write about one of my favorite places in town. Against centralism I will not write of Santiago, I will write about Valdivia. Undoubtedly the waterfront is my favorite place in Valdivia. Valdivia's waterfront is very close to the bus terminal and the city center.  In that place there are trees, balconies and sea lions. On one occasion one of those sea lions attacked former President Piñera.

Of the things I like to do on the waterfront is to walk and to ride my bicycle. I like to walk around in summer and winter, as each season has its sweet charm. When I'm sad I like to go for a walk and listen to the sound of the river. Maybe I'm crazy, but I've always thought that the river has the answer to many of my questions.

There are many people who go to the waterfront to sports. There are also couples who fall in love in this place. Almost all tourists arriving in Valdivia photos are taken on the waterfront.
One of the things I like about the waterfront are the murals and graffiti. One of my hobbies is walking and reading what people write and draw on the streets. The two bridges that have the waterfront are filled with drawings.

I invite you to visit Valdivia and its waterfront!

The best concert I've been

My love for Pedro Aznar began when I was 20 years old. The first song I liked was called: there is no way to say sorry.  This song was about a man with a broken heart. I think I really like sad songs like that.

Pedro Aznar is an Argentine singer who plays bass. Peter also writes poems and takes photographs. He admires George Harrison. I like a lot as Pedro Aznar playing song, there is some sweet melancholy in his voice and gestures.

Obviously my favorite show was one given by Pedro Aznar in 2009. This concert was held at the Mapocho Station in the framework of International Book Fair. What I liked about the show was that Pedro sang a song and then read a poem. There were many people in the auditorium, but when Pedro read a poem absolute silence occurred.

I went to this concert with my friend Camila and the two were very happy.

Pedro Aznar sing the next song Festival in Viña del Mar.  I do not know if I see him on TV or will travel to Viña del Mar to see him.

READING BOOOKS AND MAGAZINES.

I'm always reading books. When I was a child I remember looking at the pictures of the entertainment magazines my mom. In this time I did not know read but I wanted to learn. I do not know how many books I read in my life but must be many.

I prefer to read non-fiction books. When I was a teenager I read many romance novels. For example “Pride and Prejudice” written by Jane Austen. In this novel my favorite character is Mr. Darcy.

I do not know if I have a favorite writer but when I was fifteen I fell in love Herman Hesse books.  Those books made me think I was not alone in this world.  I do not have a favorite book.

I recently read a book of poems by Alfonsina Storni.  It didn’t take me too long to read this book because it is very short. I really enjoyed reading this book because the author was a feminist woman. Her poems talk about the relationships between women and men. I recommend it to you!

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT.

A continent I would like to visit.

When I was a child I always watched travel programs on television.  Most of the time I preferred to watch programs where travelers going to Africa. That was one of the reasons why I decided to study Anthropology.  I liked meeting completely different cultures to our.

I think I'd like to travel to any country in Africa. I'd like the nice part of these countries, such as music, dance, rituals, food and religion.  I think their customs are so different from ours, that would be a good opportunity to learn about anthropology and about life itself.

However, I know that in Africa there is much poverty and disease. For this reason I would like to work in an organization that helps people in need. I do not know much about the problems of Africa. I think before traveling to the continent I should read some books. I also think it would be good to talk with African people living in Chile.

Art

Hello friends today I will write about art. I think art is very important in my life. As a child it was hard to draw, but when I grew up I started the drawings come out better. Once participated in a painting competition and won first place. I don’t remember what they gave me.

I do not really like abstract modern art. Clearly my favorite painters are the Impressionists, such as Monet, Van Gogh and Gauguin. I like these painters that revolutionized the way you use colors. Latin American painters Frida Kahlo i like. She expresses much suffering and pain in her paintings.

I love graffiti and I definitely think they are an expression of art. I do not go to museums much, as I prefer to walk the streets of the town and observe the graffiti.

I personally like to paint in oil. I learned this technique when I was in school.  I leave a couple of pictures of my own creations for you to see.

A photograph that you like

Hello my friends.  Today I will write about a photograph I like. This photo was taken in Valdivia, a city in southern Chile. Photography I took it with my tablet in this winter.

Photography is divided into two parts. The first part shows a mural, where a woman, a heart, trees and birds appears. Second part shows the Calle Calle river. The day the photograph was taken was cloudy and it was cold. I went for a walk in the afternoon and saw the mural painted on the Pedro de Valdivia Bridge, so I decided to photograph.

I like this photograph because it reminds me of my college life in Valdivia. At that time I did some research about the painted murals in the city. The picture reminds me of my anthropology classes and my friend Camila. I also like the colors of the mural, I think They are absolutely romantic and subtle.

Simone De Beauvoir

I really admire to Simone de Beauvoir, she is a French woman who was writer, philosophy, and teacher in The Sorbonne University. She wrote The Second Sex, that is an elementary work of gender theory. There is a phrase in the Second Sex that I like so much. The phrase says: “Not born a woman”. This means that the facto to be a woman is something that is built for the society.

The partner of Simone De Beauvoir was Jean Paul Sartre. He was her teacher at the University of The Sorbonne. Both belong to the existentialist stream. The questions of this philosophical thought are about de life. For example ¿for what we live?

Simone de Beauvoir is one of the most important people to gender theory. She has done big contributions. Mainly she contributed to the noted that gender is a social construction.
The new movements of feminist take some her ideas. However to the condition of woman they add the situation of class, ethnicity, generation and others.

The books of Simone de Beauvoir are reading for the students of Master in gender and culture of University of Chile. Clearly she is symbol in the female wrestling. I like so much!

Something about me…

My name is Loreto Tenorio Pangui. I was born in Valdivia on a spring day in November. My mother’s name is Nancy and my father’s name is Victor.

I studied Anthropology in Valdivia. I remember the cold, the rain, the river and the big green trees around my college. I also remember the evenings of study in the library and the beautiful friendships that I made there.

Now I’m live in Santiago and study a Masters in Gender and Culture at the University of Chile. The study of gender has been a great discovery for me. I'm not afraid to define myself as a feminist. I keep a profound hope that one day men and women inhabit a better world, where more freedom for everyone there.

There are things that I love in this life and others less so. I like the autumn and rain. I like walking down the street warm. I always like to give a coin to the musicians that are uploaded to the bus. I like the people I love are happy.

I do not like action movies, or injustice, or people who think morally superior to the other. I do not like when there is no internet.
